VOTE FOR DR. JAMES LIEGL

“ In Erie County, government has not and is not the solution…it is and has been the problem.”

VOTE James Liegl

on November 6th, 2007

Elect Dr. Jim Liegl for Erie County Legislature

District 12

“THE LIEGL DIFFERENCE”

A Common Cents Plan + Private Sector Experience = A healthy Erie County

Common Cents Government

1.) No new taxes or fees. Increasing taxation and regulation results in the continued downward spiral of an economy, resulting in job loss via the exodus of employers and entrepreneurs.

2.) Review and work with New York State and our elected representatives to eliminate costly taxation and regulation on the employers of Erie County. Provide elective support to our local businesses in addressing un-funded mandates, regulation and taxation.

3.) Work with local Chambers of Commerce to identify needless, costly regulation and taxation and create and propose such changes on a county and statewide level.

4.) Bring government to the people by attending local Town and Village Board Meetings to enhance cooperation between the localities and county government as their elected representative.

5.) Freeze all promotions and salary increases not mandated by contracts.

6.) Identify all hires made and positions created over the past 6 years, including name, qualifications, job requirements, credentials, funding source, compensation and justification.

7.) Identify all positions to create criteria for basic qualifications, job requirements, credentials, funding source, compensation and justification of such positions.

8.) Eliminate unjustified personal and positions.

9.) Include union membership as part of the solution to determine, identify and implement efficiencies and cost saving measures in government. Protect those workers from retaliation and protect their privacy.

10.) Consolidate and centralize the legislative staff resources; distribute equitably among all legislators.

11.) Investigate Privatization/Sale of non-mandated County Services/Assets.

12.) Require New York State to fully fund non-mandated and mandated services, and if not, change the mandated or non-mandated laws

13.) Pursue County Charter reforms that do not expand government and spending. Expand to include State Constitution reforms.

14.) Pursue Medicaid reform, specifically non-mandated services. Expand reform into mandated services. Explore alternatives from other areas that have proven successful.

15.) Review local/regional government services and delivery systems to eliminate redundancy and waste

16.) Use our resources wisely to the benefit of the county citizens, not politicians.

The only candidate that has a plan in writing.
